franvauxkoenigartist's Creative World: Where Imagination Meets Reality

    About me!

I started painting many years ago, dabbling in many mediums but about 10 years back I settled on Oils as my preferred medium. I also loved inks and pastels until I found ENCAUSTICS!! Scroll right down to see more new work...

This encaustic painting is created from a photo I took at Point Ann in Western Australia.

This encaustic painting was inspired by  a photo I took of Point Ann on the south coast of Western Australia.

Part of a series of encaustic paintings to be shown in  The Land I Love exhibition in late 2019.

    2020 Fibre and Textile Journey

After dabbling a bit into paper making, abstract embroidery and crochet I was invited to exhibit with the West Australian Fibre & Textiles Association (WAFTA) in 2020.   My two pieces in the exhibition were a large handmade paper bowl adorned with encaustic and fibre, the other being an embellished 26 piece of hoop creation made with kombucha leather (that was fun growing it!), hessian, muslin, gut,  & handmadepaper.

this was hanging from the ceiling on a half sheath of vine clippings. The exhibition was a great success at the Holmes a’Court Gallery in Perth with over 6,000 people attending ....thank goodness our state has seen very little Covid lockdow and the restrictions lifted just in time for the exhibition.

I have since been exploring fibre and textiles further with the aim to incorporate my painting with textiles & fibres.
